DEFECTOSCOPY is the exhibition of the world largest manufacturers and suppliers of equipment for industrial non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics. Practically every participant of this exhibition is a leader in its field.

Over 70 Russian and foreign companies annually participate in Defectoscopy, organized by Restec Exhibition Company and NDT World Review and supported by the Russian Society for NDT and Technical Diagnostics, the European Federation for NDT, the International Committee for NDT, the Russian Ministry of Railways and the Russian Ministry of Atomic Energy. The exhibition is promoted by 'Testing. Diagnostics' Journal.
DEFECTOSCOPY is held to demonstrate equipment for NDT and diagnostics, and to introduce world innovations in the area of NDT instrumentation to the specialists of all spheres of industry, construction and transportation.

Over 4 years the Exhibition has been attracting the attention of exhibitors and visitors thanks to the quantity of information, and to the intension and relevance of scientific and business program. Eight 'round tables' were held within the framework of DEFECTOSCOPY 2003 with over 300 Russian and foreign participants. Questions of present interest were discussed, such as: NDT in building construction and atomic industry, radioscopic systems, objectification of ultrasonic flaw detection, possibilities of automated ultrasonic testing and other. The most interesting reports will be published in NDT World Review, which celebrated its 5th anniversary during the exhibition.

The scientific program was sponsored by the constant participant of the exhibition, company Nordinkraft.

Live demonstration of equipment, new developments and technologies, demanded in practical work, productive contacts between the producer and the consumer, high professional level of visitors, as well as implementation of new forms and methods of work with visitors characterize DEFECTOSCOPY 2003.

Within the 4 days the exhibition was visited by over 3500 specialists from 11 countries including Belarus, Bulgaria, Germany, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, UK, USA, the Ukraine, Finland, Czech Republic, Estonia, and over 160 Russian cities. DEFECTOSCOPY 2003 became another sign of positive changes in Russian economy. This year it gathered the peak quantity of exhibitors over its history, and represented products of over 100 manufacturers from Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Moldova, UK, the Ukraine, USA, Sweden, Switzerland.

The next 5th DEFECTOSCOPY 2004 will be held in St. Petersburg on September  14 - 16. The organisers plan to celebrate this modest anniversary by prize distribution to the regular exhibitors, contests by different nominations among exhibitors and visiting professionals. Scientific and cultural programs will be significantly expanded.
