Ultrasonic Inspection Reliability Increase with Angle Transducers within a Wide Temperature Range

Principles for prism material selection providing transmission angle stability and attenuation coefficient within a wide range of temperatures are considered. The material has been made, the breadboard model of the transducer with a angle of incidence 70° has been developed and tested, stability maintained has not been worse than ± 2° during the inspection within a range of temperatures from – 40 °С up to + 50 °С. The interdependence between the transducer transmission angle and prism material thermodynamic properties is discussed. Parameters of the transducer breadboard model are given.
